It’s a big celebration for one local church this weekend.

St. David’s Presbyterian Church in Kirkland is celebrating their 136^th anniversary Sunday, August 19.

Reverend Justin Kim says the church has a long history.

He says to a lot of people, the church is more than just a building.

Schedule of events:

Service at the church (1589 Route 540 in Kirkland) starting at 2 p.m. There will be special appearances by the Wednesday Evening Fiddlers, a choir of fantastic fiddlers and accompanists of all ages from the Victoria/Carleton County region and Aroostook County, Maine.

At 4 p.m., families, friends and guests are invited to attend a potluck supper at the Kirkland Community Hall.
