A New Brunswick man is off to prison in the U.S. after trying to bring oxycodone across the border into the States.
41-year-old Mario Levesque appeared in a Bangor court Tuesday, July 24, where he was sentenced to 13 months in prison after the December 2011 incident.
Levesque pleaded guilty in February 2012 to trying to illegally bring oxycodone across the border in Limestone, Maine.
Court documents say he had more than 200 pills hidden in two baby bottle liners in his pants.
He told border patrol agents he picked up the pills from under a bench at a community centre and, if he could deliver them to Caribou, could keep the $300 he also picked up.
