A local man should find out early next week whether or not he broke a record at the 1973 Preakness Stakes.
Ron Turcotte and his horse, Secretariat, won the race nearly 40 years ago, but Turcotte believes his time of 1:55 was not right.
The Maryland Racing Commission will review evidence next week to decide what the final time is.
This is not the first time a review has been done, according to Turcotte.
Mike Hopkins is the executive director of the commission.
Hopkins says a decision on the final time will be made shortly.
The decision is expected to come down Tuesday, June 19.
