Hockey New Brunswick has welcomed in its first ever president from a rural area.

Williamstown's Ray Carmichael was elected to the position at a general meeting in Fredericton on June 2.

He has been involved with hockey in New Brunswick since the early 90s.

He tells CJ104 News, he is honoured to be the first president from a rural community.

Carmichael says he will work with Hockey New Brunswick to develop new ideas and bring in new approaches over the next couple of years.
