The RCMP are reminding residents of New Brunswick of the many ways to find out about AMBER Alerts.

In addition to the usual way of receiving the information through radio and television, they can also sign up to the New Brunswick AMBER Alert Facebook page and Twitter account.

On top of that, residents can receive text message alerts directly to their cell phone by either signing up online, or by texting the word AMBER to 26237.

Public Safety Minister and Solicitor General Robert Trevors says that although there has never been an AMBER Alert in New Brunswick since the program started in 2003, everyone is encouraged to sign up for these free services.
