Hartland's town council got some good news at it's final meeting on Monday.
The town's 2011 financial statements were read which showed a total surplus of 95-thousand dollars.
Mayor Wayne Britton tells CJ104 News he can't point to just one thing that led to the surplus.
The town had a 71-thousand dollar surplus in its general operating fund, and another 24-thousand in what was budgeted for water and sewer.
Britton says the current council would have used the money for road work but it will be up to the new council to decide where to spend it.
Town CAO Linda Brown says the suplus will come into effect in the 2013 budget.
