A U.S. murder suspect who attempted to flee into Canada on Tuesday, May 1, has been officially charged south of the border.
23-Year-old Joseph Wright was before a court Thursday, May 3, in Massachusetts where he pleaded not guilty to murdering his 54-year-old mother and 83-year-old grandmother.
Wright's attorney indicated he would be seeking a psychiatric evaluation for the accused.
The bodies of his mother and grandmother were found behind an elementary school in Massachusetts on Tuesday.
Later that day Wright was apprehended by local RCMP in a wooded area in Richmond Corner after fleeing from Canadian Border officials in Woodstock.
