Now that the judges have chosen the finalists from Carleton and Victoria Counties for the NB Singing Idol they will be competing at a concert at Carleton North High School where YOU chose the next NB Singing Idol. Tickets are $10. Audience has 60% vote while the judges have 40 % say in choosing the Winner who will receive a trophy from Kamdem Graphics & Promotions as well as a CD made of their recording with their music played on CJ104 and K93 radio stations.
The age group of 12 to 18 concert will be on June 15th at 7 pm. While the 19 and over will be on July 6th.

How to make a donation to the RAISE THE ROOF FUNDRAISER
Ø Donations to the Raise the Roof Fundraiser of $100 or more can be issued a charitable donation receipt for income tax purposes through the Canadian Curling Association (CCA). Donations are being collected at the bar, recorded, tracked and forwarded to the CCA at the end of each month, as per the request of the CCA.

In 2012, a group of eight local cycling enthusiasts created “Ride to the Relay”, a long distance cycling event in support of Relay for Life, which concludes as the local Relay opening ceremonies are taking place. Last year we rode 100 KM and we raised over $10,000.
This year our team is expanding (up to 20 riders), our fund raising target is increasing (shooting for more than $20,000) and our ride will be 160 KM/100 miles. Over the next eight weeks you’ll see us on the highways and by-ways around Woodstock, training for the ride.

The Multicultural Association of Carleton County will be celebrating Multiculturalism Day on Saturday, June 22, and will be having a Carleton County Bumble.
What’s a bumble? A drive, site seeing to various marked destinations throughout Carleton County.
The event starts at 9:00am in Woodstock at the MACC office (109 Maple Street- Woodstock) stopping along the way to enjoy the sites and ends at the MACC office in Florenceville around 1:00pm (24 McCain Street Florenceville-Bristol). People will enjoy a BBQ at the Florenceville office at the end of their journey, with an appearance from MACCy the Dragon and watch as Chinese lanterns are released at approx. 2:30.
This is sure to be a fun and educational day.

Couch to 5K Running Program - 10-Week Program begins May 21st. Goal is to participate in the Tim Hortons Joe McGuire Road Race 5K on July 27th. Contact us to register.
Coed Adult Beach Volleyball – Rec Night, 4-on-4 or 2-on-2 League – contact us if interested. Registration deadline May 31.

WesternValleyAchievement Games – June 6th. Host is Hartland. Event for those with intellectual and physical challenges. Must call rec dept to register

Summer Swim Team – Begins June 24th. Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30-4:30 and 4:30-5:30pm. For youth ages 6yrs and up or able to swim in the deep end. Compete in Swim Meets around theWesternValleyRegion.
Red Cross Swim Lessons – Registration for Summer Sessions is June 5th. Session 1 July 15th to 26th and Session 2 Aug 12th to 23rd.
Adult Tennis – Recreational tennis every Wednesday evening at 7pm beginning June 5th.
31st Annual Western Valley in-motion Games (formerly known as the WV Regional Games). Hartland hosting on July 18th and 19th. For youth ages 8-13yrs. Activities will include Soccer, Badminton, Canoe races, Ball Hockey and Much More. Don’t miss this event. Must register in advance. Come representWoodstock!
Youth Golf – For youth ages 9yrs and older. 6-week program begins June 27th. Participants will be transported to the Covered Bridge Golf Club for an instructional session with Wade Lapage.
Youth Tennis – For youth ages 8yrs and up. Begins July 2nd. Serve, Rally, Score! At the McKinley Tennis Courts located behind the Connell Park Grandstand.
in motion Trails Day- June 1st @ 9am. Run, Walk, Bike the NBTrail along the beautiful St. John River! Meet at the Farmer’s Market. Everyone is welcome for this FREE event. Refreshments to follow.
Tim Hortons Joe McGuire Road Race – July 27th. Start time is 8:30am. Participate in the 5k Run, 5k Walk, or 10k Run. Registration on-line at www.atlanticchip.ca or registration forms can be found on the town website and the CCC. NO SAME-DAY REGISTRATION.
Girl’s Night Out- June 14th, for girl’s ages 7-12yrs. Participants will enjoy activities, such as, swimming, dancing, crafts and much more! Call us for more details.
