Hoping everyone had a fantastic long weekend, and hopefully, you spent it right here in New Brunswick!  We had the pleasure of staying with friends at New River Beach last weekend, and part of our journey included a ferry ride over to tiny Deer Island to watch for harbour seals - we saw one, just for a second.  It really made me think about how many cool little spots like that are still waiting for me to discover right here in my home province.  Even Google thinks so, evidenced by their homepage today (apparently in Canada only, so if you're reading this in the U.S., see the picture I have included of Hartland Covered Bridge - and happy July 4th too)

It kind of reminds me a Neil Peart lyric from the Rush song "Territories"...

"Better people...better food...and better beer...
Why move around the world when Eden was so near?"

So next time you're planning a family vacation remember, you might be surprised at the fun things you can do and see right here.  Hope that doesn't sound too much like a Tourism ad :-)
