First of all I just want to say congratulations to a few local teams who wound up being big winners over the weekend.
The Woodstock DQ Atom C Slammers are District 2 Champions.
And the Bath min boys and mini girls basketball teams swept the Mid Valley Tier 1 Championships over the weekend.

Two games into the MHL Meek Division Final the Woodstock Slammers and Summerside Western Capitals are deadlocked at a game a piece.
On Friday night in Woodstock Alex Beaton netted a hat-trick to lead the Slammers to a 7-4 win and a 1-0 series lead.
But Sunday on the Island Summerside grabbed a 5-3 victory to tie the series at one.
Simon Bissonnette and Eric Bonawitz scored in the third period to make it a one goal game, but Summerside's captain Harrison McIver scored late in the third to seal the deal.
The two teams will be on the ice again Wednesday night in Woodstock for game 3.
In the Bent Division final the Weeks Crushers lead the Yarmouth Jr. A Mariners 1-0 after a 4-2 win yesterday.

Zane Wasson scored in overtime as the Woodstock DQ Atom C Slammers beat Southern Victoria 3-2 for the Championship banner.
The team wrapped up a successful season in Plaster Rock at the year end Championship tournament.

The DQ Atom AA Slammers are one win away from becoming District Champions.
On Saturday Adam McCormick scored twice to lead the Slammers to a 4-1 win over the Fredericton DQ Blizzard and a 1-0 series lead.
Also scoring for Woodstock were Kyle Foreman and Bentley Shaw.
In game two on Sunday the Fredericton side evened the series with a 4-2 win.
Adam McCormick scored both Slammers goals.
Game three will played in Woodstock on Thursday evening. With puck drop set for 6:30.
Whoever wins will be District Champs.

The Murray's Irving Karate Pigeons took a 1-0 series lead with a 4-1 win over the Hartland Sabres Sunday night in game one of the Carleton County Gentlemen's Hockey League Championship series.
Game two goes Tuesday night at 10:15 p.m. in Woodstock.

The Bath Monquarters are the 2011 Mid Valley Mini Boys Tier 1 Champions.
Bath went 3-0 over the weekend in the final tournament in Hartland to capture the crown.
Game 1 Bath defeated Perth Vikings 75 – 22
Top scores for the Monquarters were Dustin Broad with 16pts – Blake Oakes 14pts & Edward Steeves chipped in with 10pts.
Game 2 Bath defeated Grand Falls Knights 53 – 41
Top scores for the Monquarters were Dustin Broad with 10pts – Connor O’Neill 9pts & Blake Oakes chipped in with 8pts.
Championship Game Bath squared off versus the Woodstock Thunder defeating the Thunder by a score of 62 – 50
Top scores for the Monquarters were Blake Oakes with 16pts – Sean Salmon 13pts & Dustin Broad chipped in with 10pts
Blake Oakes was named game MVP while Sean Salmon was named Digger of the game.
Top scores for the Thunder were Brennan Cook with 16pts – Ethan Cook 11pts & Kyle Culberson chipped in with 10pts.

The High School Cheerleading Competition season is now underway with things kicking off at Carleton North over the weekend.
Harrison Trimble, last year's provincial champions took home the 5th annual CNHS All-Star invitational banner.
Coming in second was Simonds, followed by St. Malachy's in third and the host Carleton North Stars in fourth place.
Approximalty 350 people came out to watch the event which featured 9 different schools.
