Basketball Camp - New Registration Deadline:

The Woodstock Thunder Hoops Camp is open to boys & girls entering grades 3 to 6. The new deadline to register is Friday, June 28.

The camps will be held July 15 to 19 (entering Grades 5 & 6) and July 22 to 26 (entering Grades 3 & 4)

Cost is $95 per camper and there are family rates.

The Woodstock High School Grand March will be held at the Carleton Civic Center. The public is invited into the rink area to view the grand march which will begin at 7:45. There will be no parade of entrance, however, the grads who choose to will be meeting at WHS around 6pm to do a “drive around town” before going to get photos done.

Multi Cultural Association Car Rally

The Multicultural Association of Carleton County will be celebrating Multiculturalism Day on Saturday, June 22, and will be holding a Car Rally - a fun adventure around Carleton County. The event starts at 9:00am in Woodstock at the MACC office (109 Maple Street- Woodstock).

Fill a car and join them for a drive through rural communities finding unusual bridges, breathtaking sights and collecting playing cards at each stop to make the best poker hand at the finish line.

Finish at the Florencville office, 24 McCain Street, and enjoy lunch, the market, bouncy castles, balloons and face painting from 12 to 3 pm.

2013 Horseshoe NB Provincial Championship

The 2013 Horseshoe NB Provincial Championship will be held June 22^nd and 23^rd at the Connell Park Raceway. Approximately 65-70 pitchers from all over the province will be participating in three different divisions; Men’s, Women’s and Senior’s. Dunroamin’ Stray and Rescue will have a BBQ operating on both days.

Deadline to register is June 3^rd but applications will still be accepted after June 3^rd with a $20 late registration fee. Registration forms can be found on the Horseshoe NB website, www.horseshoenb.com.

It`s our annual Kickoff to Summer Party, Sat June 22 at Sobeys Woodstock.

Prize draws, clowns, jumpy castles,food ( Benefit BBQ for the Foodbank ) demonstrations and always lots of fun for your family.

The fun starts Saturday June 22 at 11 am - 2 pm in the Sobeys parking lot and inside the store.

We'll end the day with the CJ104 Crew battling it out against the Sobeys Team in a Shopping Spree to raise money for the Foodbank.

Summer Swim Team – Begins June 24th. Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30-4:30pm. For youth ages 6yrs and up or able to swim in the deep end. Compete in Swim Meets around theWesternValleyRegion.

"Action" - 2013 Summer Reading Club

Young people in New Brunswick are invited to register for the 2013 Summer Reading Club in public libraries and discover the joys of reading. This year’s theme is Movies and films and the slogan is “Action!”

The Summer Reading Club is designed to encourage young people to read over the summer holidays. When they register, participants receive a reading log book in which they can write down the titles of the books they read during the summer. They will also receive a certificate of achievement at the end of the summer.

The 2013 Summer Reading Club is intended for all young New Brunswickers. Children who do not know how to read yet can also participate by having a parent or guardian read to them.

During the months of June, July and August, all public libraries and bookmobiles in the province will present various fun and entertaining activities as part of the 2013 Summer Reading Club.

The program runs from June 24-August 16 for children aged 3 years to grade 5. Register for the 2013 Summer Reading Club at the L. P. Fisher Public Library or by calling 325-4777.

Now that the judges have chosen the finalists from Carleton and Victoria Counties for the NB Singing Idol they will be competing at a concert at Carleton North High School where YOU chose the next NB Singing Idol. Tickets are $10. Audience has 60% vote while the judges have 40 % say in choosing the Winner who will receive a trophy from Kamdem Graphics & Promotions as well as a CD made of their recording with their music played on CJ104 and K93 radio stations.

The concert for age group of 19 and over will be held on July 6^th.

Concert tickets are on sale at Vogue Optical at 267 Connell Road in Woodstock, Smith’s Drug Store at 8818 Main Street, Florenceville-Bristol, Mark’s The Spot at 9670 Route 105, Beechwood, Jean Coute Pharmacy at 276 Broadway, Grand Falls.

Up to 100 law enforcement officer motorbikes from around NB along with some from Bangor will gather to raise money for Special Olympics.
