Album Review

Sibling Rivalry: The Best of the Smothers Brothers is a terrific, single-disc collection of 18 classic routines and songs the seminal comedy duo recorded between 1962 and 1965. There's no better compilation of the group's classic routines, and since most of the original albums are long out of print, this disc is the only way to acquire recordings of the Smothers at their peak. That alone is reason to get the disc, but fortunately it delivers on its promise, offering some of the group's greatest songs and bits, including "Pretoria," "Tom Dooley," "Chocolate," "Jenny Brown," "Mediocre Fred," "You Can Call Me Stupid," "Hangman," "Michael, Row the Boat Ashore," "You Didn't Come In," and, of course, "Mom Always Liked You Best."
