Album Review

Melissa Etheridge doesn’t avoid big themes on Fearless Love -- she strikes back at Carrie Prejean’s anti-gay marriage stance on “Miss California” and supports Obama on “We Are the Ones,” both playing like delayed hangovers -- but the album plays as just a collection of songs, something she hasn’t released in many years. Some of the tunes are rather humble in origin, but Etheridge produces every song as a stadium-busting anthem, combining elements of Springsteen, U2, and Coldplay.
