Who knows what the source is for the Diamond imprint's series of live recordings, but whatever it is, they do have fine sound, usually offer a portrait of an artist at the peak of her or his popularity, and issue excellent performances as well. That is exactly the case with this set by the Pointer Sisters captured during their hitmaking years in the late '70s and early '80s. The track lineup is terrific and includes live versions of "Slowhand," "Fire," "Jump," and " So Excited." It's almost as if this were a live greatest-hits recording. Fans will want this for sure.
